I recently saw a video where a guy used a sheet of MDF (medium-density fibreboard) 3/4″ and used it as the top for a workbench. In addition to his workbench he was able to add additional plywood so he could have storage. Somehow I came across the same piece of MDF at 3/4″ thick.
Somehow our 10 gallon fish tank ended up on the kitchen counter. I’m not sure if it was to make cooking more enjoyable for us by watching a fish swim around OR maybe the convenience of cleaning purposes since it’s near a sink; or possibly both. Regardless of the reason the wife insisted of needing MORE counter space. Now you know that’s more than enough reason for another DIY project!!!
Just because I had run out of projects to build, that still didn’t stop me working. I figured I’d use this time to start on smaller projects just to utilize all of the scrap wood that had been piling up. At this point I had everything from pallet slats, 2 X 4’s, and even sheets of particle boards that had been lying around forever.
So my little one decided she needs a desk in her room so she can do her homework and projects for school. Anything for our kids right; so it’s time for another project!!!
I came across a couple pieces of plywood I figured I’d use for the top. Of course this also meant a trip to one of my favorite stores (Home Depot) to get the 2 X 4’s for the legs and frame. Fortunately for me the 2 X 4’s are really inexpensive, so I purchased a couple of extra just to keep for spares.
